How to read the Internet speed test results
- Ping:
it is the time taken to connect your testing server - IP Address:
it is the IP address assigned to your system. you may notice that your IP address may be different in your device that the IP address that you see in the test result. it is because when you connect to your router or modem you will be assigned a private IP address by your router. which is not allowed in internet. The router gets a public address from your ISP when sucessfully gets connected to internet and your router uses the public IP for communication using NAT - Download Speed :
The speed that your are receiving from the server. This determines your browsing , watching video quality, etc. Downloading shows the download speed of the data to your device in Mbit/sec. The higher value is better because the faster the download, the less time you wait to load a web page or, for example, download an email attachment. The Internet connection at home is usually asymmetrical. This means that the data transfer speed to the user is higher than the upload speed.
- Upload Speed:
The Speed you are able send from your network or PC to the server. This determines the upload speed of your attachments in e-mail. This also determines your video quality on the other-side or receiving side during an online video conference or video call. if your upload speed is slow then your video will be blured at other end.
